WELCOME TO THE PORT TOWNS!

ABOUT US

In 1994 the Towns of Bladensburg, Colmar Manor, and Cottage City agreed to work together towards a common goal--community revitalization. In 2004, Edmonston joined the Port Towns to complete our union. We posses a very diverse resident population and focused on sustainability and building a sense of community.

The Port Towns contains a treasure of history and recreational amenities.  The monumental Battle of Bladensburg – part of the campaign that led to both the burning of the Washington D.C. And the creation of the National Anthem – happened here.  The Port Towns has four intact colonial-era buildings, including the former home of the first Secretary of the Navy, Bostwick.  Additionally, the Port Towns is closer to more open space than any place in the inner-beltway, with easy access to community parks and ball fields, the National Arboretum, the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, the Bladensburg Waterfront Park, and acres of meadows along the Anacostia River.
